Understanding how sex chromosomes shape brain aging
We study how sex chromosomes influence cognitive aging and brain health, combining molecular biology, cell culture, and omics approaches to uncover the mechanisms behind age-related cognitive decline.
The Abdulai-Saiku Lab is a neuroscience research group at Temple University. Our work asks how the sex chromosomes — long overlooked in studies of the brain — contribute to differences in how we age cognitively.
We combine molecular biology, cell culture, and omics approaches to uncover mechanisms of resilience and vulnerability in the aging brain, with the goal of informing future approaches to brain health.
