What we do
Research
Our research centers on the role of sex chromosomes in cognitive aging and brain health.
A central question in our lab is how the X chromosome shapes brain aging. We study how genes that escape X-chromosome inactivation influence cognition, resilience to cellular stress, and susceptibility to neurodegenerative disease.
Using mouse models alongside molecular and omics techniques, we investigate the mechanisms that drive age-related cognitive decline and the factors that protect against it. Our long-term aim is to translate these insights into a deeper understanding of sex differences in brain health and disease.
